1.Tall Model From BrazilNo one understands the plight of the
tall girl more than Elisany da Cruz Silva, a 17-year-old girl from
Brazil who currently stands at six feet, nine inches in height. Elisany
is a remarkable girl with a very rare form of gigantism caused by a
tumor on her pituitary gland. She has been experiencing great leaps in
height growth since her late childhood.
Luckily, recently Elisany
was able to undergo a special surgery that was intended to remove the
tumor from her pituitary gland – a procedure which proved to be
successful for various reasons. Since the tumor was thought to have been
the cause of her gigantism, her doctors are confident that having
removed the tumor not only saves her overall health, but may also stop
her from growing any taller.
Elisany’s family cannot be more
supportive of her and her dreams. Currently, she lives with her mother
and brother and sisters, and aspires to someday become a fashion model.
Since her surgery, Elisany has (to everyone’s surprised delight),
decreased one inch in height – something that no one thought was
possible.
Though she is one of the tallest teenagers in the
world, Elisany has strived to live a normal life. It is true that most
tall girls in general have trouble dating because most guys are
intimidated or insecure about being with a tall girl, but Elisany has
been lucky in love. In fact, she is in a committed relationship with a
22-year-old boy, Francinaldo, who thinks Elisany is perfect and as
beautiful as a model.
Right now, Elisany is continuing to strive
for her dream of becoming a model. Though she has been rejected in the
past, she is determined to make her dream come true. And though it is
true that she is an exceptionally tall individual, to the people who
know her she is also a pretty girl and a fun person with a kind and open
heart – not to mention an inspiration for all the tall girls of the
world!
2. FOOT ROUND OF BOOTILICOUSNESS: THE WORLD’S WIDEST HIPSIt’s
no secret that men love curves. Curvy, voluptuous women have no trouble
getting attention – especially if those curves are combined with
confidence and a healthy amount of sass.
No woman knows this to
be true more than Mikel Ruffinelli, who currently holds the record for
having the widest hips in the world. Looking at her directly from a
front-end view, she appears to be a very, VERY shapely woman – but
nothing would really strike you as abnormal.
Get a little closer,
pull out a measuring tape, and wrap it around her hips however, and
you’ll find that Mikel is way beyond your average curvy lady. Her hips
measure at an amazing eight foot circumference – meaning she has a
generous eight feet of bootiliciousness for you.
And Mikel
absolutely loves it. She loves herself, knows that she is totally hot,
and has no trouble posing for us. Looking at her photos, you can tell
that Mikel is not shy about showing off her rare and special figure.
“
I love my shape and I see no reason to diet because I don’t have health
problems.” Though she does weigh 420 pounds, her waist is only 40
inches wide – a proportionally small size considering the width of her
hips, and the fact that she has given birth to four children. Prior to
becoming a mother, Mikel was not nearly as big as she is now. She has
very large hips because her body has demonstrated remarkable
expansibility after giving birth.
At home, Mikel sleeps in a
seven foot-wide bed and she sometimes has difficulty fitting through
some doors (unless he enters sideways), but other than that, she and her
family live a pretty normal life.
Confident about her body and
loving herself for the way she is, Mikel says, “Men don’t fancy skinny
girls, they like an hourglass figure.”
And her husband couldn’t agree more. Mikel has been married for ten years to a man who finds her unique shape incredibly sexy.
3. THE DIRTIEST MAN ALIVESomewhere deep within the dusty
outskirts of Farashband, Iran lives a unique creature who could easily
be considered the dirtiest human alive.
Meet Amoo Hadij, a
peculiar 80-year-old man who has not bathed himself once in more than 60
years. Amoo Hadij lives in a small abandoned brick hut in the village
of Dezhgah, completely alone, surrounded by garbage, dirt, and animal
feces. A bit of a loner, Amoo likes to keep to himself, and rarely has
the opportunity to interact with other people. This is probably due to
the fact that he smells to high heaven and has the outward appearance of
a troll.
However, Amoo Hadij has no idea he’s so dirty. In fact,
his less than sanitary but simple life is completely by choice. He is
dirty because he has refused to bathe – not because he does not have a
way of cleaning himself.
Looking at Amoo, one can see that his
skin is as thick as leather and a bit scaly, most likely due to the
layers and layers of dirt and grime that have accumulated over his body
over the last 60 years.
His face and beard are covered in black
soot because he is a constant smoker, with his most prized possession
being a broken steel pipe, which he uses to smoke animal dung on a daily
basis. Though he’s technically not homeless, he often sleeps outside of
his simple shelter, preferring the “fresh air,” as well as the warmth
of his fire pit.
No one knows why Amoo has refused to bathe in
over six decades. However, he seems to be doing fine. While it is
difficult to understand why anyone would choose to live the way he does,
he appears to be completely content with his primitive but personally
satisfying lifestyle.
4.GOOD PHOTOS GONE WRONG – FUNNY OPTICAL ILLUSIONS!If seeing is believing, then you have no choice but to totally accept all of the following images as artifacts of reality.
How
do you explain all of these quirky yet truly amazing optical illusions?
Blame it on your brain’s innate urge to constantly try and make sense
of what it sees. When you take a photograph, the camera actually
flattens the image it captures, allowing for a bunch of really crazy
optical accidents.
Because your brain is always trying to attach
sense and logic and familiarity to everything your eyes see, these
optical accidents sometimes coincidentally form wayward, but coherent
images.
In other words, what you see can look like two things at
the same time, what you see can look like something impossible or
nonsensical, or what you see can look like something completely
unexpected.
An example of an image that appears to be depicting
an impossible scenario is the image of a man with this head and body
sticking out of a window. The man looks like he is holding a car in his
right hand, when actually the car is parked on the ground, a ways below
from the camera and the man in the photograph.
A great example of
an illusion of two things that appear to be one thing at the same time
is the image of the couple posing in jeans and white tank tops. Because
of the camera angle and the way the couples’ legs are positioned, it
looks like they both share one left leg wearing a high heel. It also
looks like the girl’s body is simply part of the guy’s body.
One
fun challenge is to try to plan out these crazy images. Some people are
great at it, but for the most part these optical illusions happen
totally by accident!

struggle for a tiny waist is one of the woman-kind’s most nagging
concerns. The ideal hourglass figure has been an attractive quality to
both men and women for hundreds and thousands of years, and it is
something for which women are willing to suffer.
Michelle Kobke is one of those women who are willing to suffer greatly for beauty.
At
24 years of old, Michelle, who lives in Germany, is obsessed with
achieving the smallest waist in the world. She is so keen on the idea
that she has been wearing corsets every single day for three years in a
row, determined to permanently alter her physical shape through
long-term reconditioning/molding.
When you think about it, the
idea of the corset is not new at all. In fact, for hundreds of years,
it’s what all women wore every single day, for their entire lives. Just
one hundred or so years ago, it was perfectly normal for a woman at any
age to wear a corset that was designed to constrict her waist to look
three times smaller than would be natural for any real human.
With
this in mind, what Michelle is doing is not that strange at all –
except for the fact that at this point in history we’ve already proven
that wearing corsets for long periods of time can result in a myriad of
health problems, including digestive problems and breathing problems.

6. SEE JUST HOW FAR FAKE BEGGARS IN CHINA WILL GO TO GET PITY MONEYLow
economic conditions in China’s urban areas have sparked an increase of
beggars faking disabilities in an attempt to gain more money. Cities
like Shanghai and Hong Kong are littered with na?ve tourists who are
more than willing to hand over a few yen to anyone appearing to be
handicapped in anyway. And unfortunately, there are plenty of scam
artists who are willing to take advantage of this sort of “benefit of
the doubt” level of kindness.
One amazing example of this, is a
beggar who has constructed a rather elaborate contraption for displaying
his false paralytic condition. The beggar’s props for his dishonest
charade include a rolling board, which he lays on top of and rolls
around with a box strapped to his back for collecting pity money.
A photographer visiting China was able to capture the day the beggar was caught as a fake.
First,
the beggar is seen rolling around in the street, pathetically begging
unsuspecting strangers for money. Many strangers take pity on him and
put money in his box. However, the beggar’s fallacy is exposed in one
instance when an exceptionally kind, elderly woman and her family decide
to do more than just give cash to the beggar.
In addition to
giving him money, the elderly woman and her companion decide to try to
provide hands-on help to the disabled beggar. But when they try to take a
closer look at his legs, the beggar becomes defensive, and in an act of
paranoia, accidentally exposes himself by rising to his knees in an
attempt to protect his money.
Once this happens, everyone nearby
is immediately aware that the poor, disabled beggar is a fake. The
elderly woman confronts the beggar and it appears that she is shaming
him for his dishonest conduct. Soon, the police are called and the
beggar is asked to stop his charade. While the beggar does eventually
give up his act, he does not appear to be the least bit ashamed of what
he has done. In fact, the beggar simply continues to count his money in
front of everyone around him.
7. THIS IS WHAT THAT “HEAD OVER HEELS” FEELING LOOKS LIKE – LITERALLYWe’ve
all heard the famous saying about “falling head over heels” for
someone. In general, the saying refers to the act of falling in love –
the gravity-like consequences of being really into someone. But what
about standing head over heels instead of falling? What would that feel
like, and most importantly, what would that literally look like?
The
answer to that question has recently been addressed by one artist who
takes the famous saying just a little too literally. Patrice Letarnec, a
talented photographer and art director based in France, has become an
internet sensation overnight, with his “Head Over Heels” photography
series making everyone rethink their visual expectations, as well as
what it means to be disoriented both emotionally and physically.
The
“Head Over Heels” series features photographs of anonymous individuals
wearing a variety of clothing upside-down, while walking, running, and
jumping on their hands (instead of their feet). With heads and faces
hidden in pants and skirts, with hands hidden in shoes, and with feet
and legs making arm and hand gestures, Letarnec plays with a myriad of
elements which contribute to the work’s overall concept. This series
plays with ideas involving fashion, figurative portraiture, irony,
play-on-words, gravity, and humor.
So far, the “Head Over Heels”
series has been circulating the web with almost everyone commenting and
confessing that at first, they are totally perplexed by what they see,
which is probably why the photographs have gotten so much attention.
The
viewer does not even realize that the person in the photograph is in an
upside-down position. The hands are hidden in shoes, and for the first
several seconds, even the lack of a head on a body seems visually
irrelevant.
When looking at the photos, the audience is
immediately and simultaneously confused, amused, and delighted. All the
photographs in the series were captured in the streets of Paris, adding
an even more surreal impact to the work.
8. LITTLE BOY WITH MOLE THE SIZE OF HIS ENTIRE BACKMany
people are born with birthmarks, moles, and other au naturel markings
that are seen as nothing but small but special little evidences of
uniqueness. It’s quite normal to have little spot here and there that’s
unique only to you, and even many women call their beloved moles “beauty
marks.” But sometimes, nature goes a little too far and a little boy is
born with a mole on his back so big that it keeps him from living a
normal life.
Little Didier Montalvo is a boy from Columbia who
was born with a medical disorder known as Congenital Melanocytic Nevus –
AKA giant mole disease. In this case, Didier’s mole was so big that it
took up his entire back (a back-end view in photographs makes him
resemble a ninja turtle just a little) and posed such a health risk that
it was either remove the mole or possibly suffer from a multitude of
deteriorating health effects. Literally, the mole was taking all his
nourishment and feeding itself like a parasitic monster!
Luckily,
Didier was able to undergo a special type of surgery that successfully
separated him from his giant mole, allowing him to live a normal life,
free from physical hindrances.
But the surgery also helped him
live a normal life in the eyes of the public. Prior to this surgery,
people in his community were afraid to touch or go near Didier because
they were afraid that his mole was some kind of a manifestation of an
evil spirit. The people of the community also feared that if they
touched him, they too would contract whatever he had (an obviously false
assumption).
Now, thanks to his surgery, Didier will no longer
be hindered or bothered by people’s ignorant superstitions. But Who
cares what they think? The cool thing now is that Didier can finally run
around and play like a normal little boy.
9. THIS IS WHAT ZERO PERCENT FAT LOOKS LIKEThe whole world is obsessed with being skinny, but one man can’t help but be at zero percent fat for the rest of his life.
Meet
Tom Staniford, a nice guy living with Myelodysplastic Preleukemic
syndrome, also known as MDP syndrome, a condition in which his body is
unable to store fat under his skin. MDP is an extremely rare metabolic
disorder, which is currently known to affect only a total of eight
people in the entire world.
People with MDP all share the same
“no fat whatsoever” characteristics, which include the appearance of
sunken eyes, cheeks, and withered lips.
Tom Staniford was born at
a totally normal weight, but his condition has caused him to “shrink”
in appearance throughout the years. Now at 23 years of age, Tom’s whole
body is pretty much just skin and bone.
As a person living with
such a rare condition, Tom is somewhat of a medical wonder. No doubt he
has been a very interesting case for medical experts, and often
undergoes tests specially designed to measure his entire body’s
physiological state.
Looking at him straight on, you can see that
Tom has more than just a skinny face. Where most people would usually
have a good amount of flesh covering their eyes and cheeks, Tom’s face
is so skinny that you can see his skull’s shape and structure.
None
of this really matters to Tom, of course. In fact, Tom does not seem to
be that deeply affected by his condition. His photos show him doing and
being totally normal with the people in his life. In addition to this,
Tom is super athletic. Considering himself a fitness junkie, he can be
seen bicycling and going on all kinds of adventures.
Despite his
unusual appearance and unique and seemingly fragile frame, Tom lives
life to the fullest. To him, his condition is one that is literally only
skin deep.
